These all came from my trip out west (to western Massachusetts and Vermont, that is) from a funky roadside harvest festival tent sale thing. The old books are all very musty smelling and the newest is from 1947. The oldest is the Jane Eyre, from 1887!

Oooh ooh yay pretty old books. I am jealous of your Jane Eyre like whoa. I love New England booksales. They are apt to have the most incredible finds!
ReplyDelete@Kelly: I about died when I picked up the Jane Eyre -- I just love holding things that are more than a hundred years old -- it's mind blowing.
ReplyDeleteWow! Great find with the Jane Eyre!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful selections! I love old books too. Check out my mailbox
ReplyDeleteSome great finds there Audra.
ReplyDeleteThere is a wonderful place in Western Ma called The Montague Book Mill. Best time to visit is the fall, as it's in the middle of no where - near Deerfield.....very fun
Wonderful mailbox, Audra! Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThat is an excellent haul. And whoa to the Jane Eyre. I picked up that same edition of Brideshead Revisited at an Illinois antique shop! Exciting.
ReplyDeleteI love all the vintage books you got!

ReplyDeleteOh, those old books are just beautiful! I can't believe that Jane Eyre! I have been wanting a really nice edition of that book for as long as I can remember, but have had trouble finding one. Also, the cover for To Join the Lost is kind of creepy!
ReplyDeleteDropping by in all haste to offer you and your wife very belated congratulations on your third wedding anniversary, Audra. May your happiness increase with every year!
ReplyDeleteThat stack of vintage/antique books made me drool, by the way! I need to look for an older, hardcover edition of Jane Eyre! And of Brideshead Revisited - another of my all-time favourites.
LOL! I can't wait for you to read the Lincoln one
ReplyDeleteAlright, can't wait to see what you think of Abe the vampire hunter! I love old books. Good score!
