Mailbox Monday, Jan 30
Seen both at Mailbox Monday -- hosted in January at At Home With Books -- and The Story Siren, my Mailbox Monday/In My Mailbox.
An amazing week of arrivals, just the medicine I needed to feel better! I had a yucky weekend of snotting and coughing (Ti, I did, however, use my neti pot with great success so thank you!) but checking out these books made me very happy!
What did you get this week? Read any of these?

That is quite a haul of books, and it has a fascinating selection of titles. I loved Before I Go To Sleep and hope you do too! I'm hoping to dive into Gemma Hardy sometime soon, so I'll eagerly await your review of it!
ReplyDeleteCarrie -- I'm a bit nervous of Before I Go To Sleep only because I'm a weenie -- here's hoping it's not going to scare me to the point that I'll never sleep again! ;) I'm super excited for Gemma Hardy!
DeleteLots of goodies for you :D
ReplyDeleteI've seen Before I Go to Sleep at store and it sounds good. Looking forward to your review!
ReplyDeleteBefore I go to Sleep is excellent, hope you enjoy it as much as everyone else is. Love the cover and title of A Hole in the Ground Owned by a Liar...I will have to go look it out.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great batch of books!!! I read The Doctor and the Diva and loved it. I hope you do too!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you got some great books to read. Happy reading
ReplyDeleteSo jealous about Gemma Hardy!
ReplyDeleteGreat haul. I'm really looking forward to your thoughts on Jane Eyre, because readers seem to go wild over that one. :)
ReplyDeleteDarlyn -- I read it once a million years ago and hated it (I know, I fail as a reader and women lit lover!) so I'm eager to reread it as an adult.
DeleteI read Jane Eyre in college during my semester abroad in England and loved it. I just added The Flight of Gemma Hardy to my to-read list, but am nervous. I loved Rebecca and found The Lantern too similar so I didn't enjoy it. I'm hoping the same doesn't occur with Gemma Hardy.
DeleteOh, the Doctor and the Diva was such a fun book! I hope you enjoy it! I also hope that you love Jane Eyre. It's one of my favorites. Happy Reading to you, and I am glad you are feeling better!
ReplyDeleteWOW...you really did have a great week for new books --enjoy. Hope u r feeling good as new soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice mailbox here! enjoy them all. Your last one looks very good.
ReplyDeleteHah! I got The Doctor and the Diva from the library. It looks kind of good-in-a-pop-culture-historical-novely way. If that makes sense. i.e. it shouldn't be taken too seriously.
ReplyDeleteThat makes perfect sense, and I can't wait -- I'm always in the mood for books like that now and then!
DeleteWhat fun for you to get such a great pile of books! Hope you are feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteMe too -- I'm back at work but coughing like a sea lion, so it's a mixed bag here!
DeleteI really liked Before I Go To Sleep. It was creepy but good!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great selection of books! I'm very interested in reading the Flight of Gemma Hardy and Before I Go To Sleep which is staring at me from my shelf!
ReplyDeleteI'm already looking forward to your reviews of these books!
I hope you're feeling much better. I'm hoping you can go home after work and crawl into bed with one of your new reads...relaxation and a good book: a surefire remedy to a bad cold (I hope!)
A nice mixture of reads, enjoy!

What a nice mix of books! Hope you feel better soon. Before I Go to Sleep looks particularly interesting, hopefully not too creepy!
ReplyDeleteWonderful mix of books this week. I have Before I Go to Sleep and Doctor and the Diva and hope to read them soon. I read Jane Eyre many, many years ago... I'm due for a re-read on that one.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I've read good reviews for The Doctor and the Diva.
ReplyDeleteJane Eyre!!!!! (That is all.) :)
ReplyDeleteSo many good reads! I won a copy of The Doctor And The Diva and love the cover so much -- eek! Excited to read it.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great variety! I can't help but think of Doctor Who when seeing the title The Doctor and the Diva. :)
