Mailbox Monday, July 30
This week's Mailbox Monday (hosted in July at Mrs. Q: Book Addict), is another book explosion of awesome. Seriously, I want to spread these on my bed and swim in them, a la Scrooge McDuck. As usual, click on a cover to learn more about the book (link will automatically open in a new tab/window). What did you get? Have any of these?

I'm eager to see what you make of the Kingmaker's Daughter. I've mostly outgrown PG as a historical fiction author, but I read the first three in the series. I might pick it up, depending on your review!
ReplyDeleteI tried to read Advent and could not get into it. I've seen some nice reviews, so it'll be interesting to see what you make of it. I hope you have better luck with it.
Happy reading, Audra :)
I accepted it for review without realizing it was the fourth in a series so we'll see how it fares as a standalone. I feel you on being 'over' PG so hopefully this one will be fun.
DeleteSo sad to hear that about Advent! :/
Like Jessie, I'm a bit 'over' Gregory, although I really enjoyed her books a few years ago. I'll be interested to see what you make of it. Gross America looks like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteGross America has already started a bidding war among my friends and family -- everyone is vying for it when I'm done. It looks repulsive/fun!
DeleteWhat a variety! I have a feeling my son would enjoy Gross America!
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to see a Gregory without a headless woman or the back of a woman's head! I love the simplicity of the cover, it's so striking.
ReplyDeleteI know, right? I do love it when publishers change a trend -- or at least, when they do so in a style I like! ;)
DeleteI need to get my butt in gear and catch up on the Otherworld books by Armstrong. I also love the cover for At the Edge of Waking.
ReplyDeleteI am sooooooooo behind on the Otherworld books -- I hope this final one doesn't make reading the others pointless!
DeleteChurchill's Secretary looks like a good one.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous mailbox. The mix of genres is just so good.
ReplyDeleteMost of those are new to me, but I've heard wonderful things about Advent. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI didn't get any of these, but am expecting the Phillipa Gregory to land on my doorstep any day now. All of these look so exciting! Lots of great new reads to get all wrapped up in!
ReplyDeleteThat cover of At the Edge of Waking is awesome!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've got a lot of great reading in front of you.
Saw a few I would like to read, great mailbox.

Istanbul Passage looks especially interesting to me. The cover alone begs me to visit!
ReplyDeleteWonderful mailbox! I haven't read any of these. I hope you enjoy each one.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite an eclectic set of books! I also have a couple of Phillipa Gregory's books that are begging to be read, and I love the cover of At the Edge of Waking.
ReplyDeleteI resonate with the idea of just holing up and diving into the bookcase, but alas, that's not the kind of week I'm anticipating!
Enjoy your books.
The cover of At the Edge of Waking is pretty much the coolest ever. I'll be very interested to hear about what's on the inside!
ReplyDeleteI have Istanbul Passage and Mr. Churchill's Secretary, too, so I'm especially looking forward to your thoughts on those. Gross America would be a big hit with The Girl, I'm sure. ;)
