Mailbox Monday, July 9

No rest for the wicked: off to DC on a business trip this week and I'm loaded up with awesome reads.  Some of this weeks arrivals below, aka my Mailbox Monday (hosted in July at Mrs. Q: Book Addict). As usual, click on a cover to learn more about the book (link will automatically open in a new tab/window).  What did you get?  Have any of these?

  1. I don't read a lot of historical fiction, but Crossing on the Paris looks great to me. I hope all of your books are great!

    1. She's a totally new to me author -- will have to look for her previous book(s) now! I too adore the cover for Typewriter Girl -- it might be my favorite of this lot!

  3. Shadow of the Rock and Cocaine Blues look like two good mystery novels. Must look for them...

    1. Cocaine Blues is marvelous -- I read it before and love the Phryne Fisher series -- but hadn't owned any of the books. I'm slowly collecting them!

  4. A fantastic selection, as always! The only one I've read is Painter of Silence, which wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be. I'm in the minority with that opinion though, others absolutely loved it.

I'm interested in Bride of New France and Crossing on the Paris, look forward to your thoughts on them.

    1. I know, right? Some have Jan 2013 pub dates, so I can't justify rushing to them but I so want to!

  8. Man, what a haul! The covers alone on these books is more eye candy than the average reader could be expected to handle ;) I just downloaded Cocaine Blues on my Kindle for free. Not sure if it's a sale for a limited amount of time or what. Added many others to my WishList :)

    1. I know, they're obscenely gorgeous!! I hope you enjoy Cocaine Blues -- I got really hooked on Greenwood's series for quite a while -- kind of 'cozy' mysteries, only with a flapper -- quite fun!

  12. I have read not even one of these books. What's up with that. My TBR pile is fast becoming a mountain!!!! Looking forward to your reviews. I sometimes choose a book, just by it's cover. I would have chosen many of these. Their covers are awesome.

  13. I never even heard of the Phryne Fisher books until Bev did the guest post for me, so I'm thinking I need to start it soon.

I'm so frickin jealous of the Dshiell Hammett book, I think my mouth started to water. I really, really, realy need to get that.

And I must say, I love the cover for The Fires of London.

Hope you are having a great week.

    1. Jenna -- thank you for the follow! You're the second person to say they didn't enjoy Battleborn so I may drop it lower on my TBR.
