Book Blogger Appreciation Week: Appreciate

Today's theme for Book Blogger Appreciation Week 2012 is 'Appreciate', and I'm delighted to be able to share some of my favorite blogs and bloggers.

I keep up a list of some of my favorite blogs on the right -- it refreshes with the ten most recent folks but I think it might have about 25 blogs on it. That's just a snapshot of the fabu folks I read and love. Last year, I did a Friday Follow post in May and June highlighting some favorite bloggers.  Still, I want to shout out to these folks -- these are some of the blogs I try to read daily and they're folks who are honest, funny, friendly, fascinating, and real.

Jessie of Ageless Pages Reviews
Emily of As the Crowe Flies (and Reads!)
Ti of Book Chatter
Jen of Books Personally
Marie of Burton Book Review
Col of Col Reads
Anna of Diary of an Eccentric
Amy of House of the Seven Tails
Carrie of Nomadreader
Amy of Passages to the Past
Jen of The Picky Girl
Heather of Raging Bibliomania
Sarah of Reading the Past
Danielle of Romantic Armchair Traveller
Serena of Savvy Verse & Wit
Meg of Write Meg!

I'd also like to give thanks to anyone who runs a reading challenge -- having tried (unsuccessfully) to run one last year, I'm especially grateful to those bloggers who are willing to do all the leg work, cheering, and tracking.

I think most book bloggers will say it's our fellow bloggers and readers who make book blogging so great -- and I must agree. I've met such generous, friendly, intelligent folks through book blogging. I'm grateful to everyone who takes the time to comment on a post here or enter a giveaway -- without those of you visiting and reading me, I'd be a lot lonelier!

Thank you, all, for taking the time to read my blog -- I appreciate it!

What blogs do you appreciate? Let me know -- I'm always up for finding new book lovers to squee with!

  1. You have a wonderful blog and your list is awesome too!
I am enjoying discovering all of these new blogs and the blogs they love too.
I am glad to see a lot of smaller/lesser known blogs featured. Its nice to discover new blogs and not see the same blogs listed over and over.
Have a wonderful BBAw and rest of the week!

  3. You've some of my favourites in that list, so I'm tempted to check out all the others as our blogging tastes could be similar (adding your blog to my reader). Nice idea to highlight challenge hosts. I agree, without the community blogging wouldn't be half as worth it, the conversations and debates we have are great.

  5. Somehow I completely missed the fact it was BBAW this week, and I thought I had subscribed to the site for updates and such. And nothing came across my radar. But I wanted to say I appreciate YOU.. as you are one of my favorite commenters. Even though we sometimes have different tastes, I still value your opinion very much and love that you comment regularly. XXOO!

    1. Marie -- !!! Thank you for your kind words -- I'm *mortified* that I forgot to add you to my list -- I adore your blog and you're probably one of the first blogs I read with any regularity -- so forgive me for missing you initially but I have added you to the list. You're the only blogger who can tempt me out of my usual reading routine -- I love reading your reviews because when you're enthused about a book, it is infectious!

    2. So freaking funny... cuz when I just got your emailed post my name was there, and I didn't remember seeing it before (& was I totally blind the first time??)! OMG I wasn't trying to guilt you into adding me to your list, lmao
BUT... thank you for adding me! You're too sweet!

    3. Marie, you soooooooooooooo did not guilt me -- I am literally dying of embarrassment as you are a fav blogger of mine and you've been so supportive and friendly since my first days online. I can't believe I missed adding you originally, and I hope you forgive me.

  10. Dear Audra, how heartwarming to find my blog on the list of a reviewer I admire so much and whose point of view inspires me to think about and to try books like very few other bloggers do :-) Thank you especially much for thinking of me even though my blogging has been infrequent for a while. You have a gift for making those of us who frequent your blog feel welcome and valued with your smart and thoughtful responses, and that generosity of spirit is exemplified by this post. Please accept a warm thank-you hug!

  11. Audra - you're tops, no doubt about it. I'm behind on my post for BBAW, but this was an unexpected delight. I'm so glad to have met you and to have built such a fun relationship. You're my go-to gal for all things bloggish, and I very much appreciate the shout out.

You rock, I love your reviews, and I always enjoy chatting with you. So grateful to be thought of and linked.

  12. Thank you! I am so out of the loop with all that was going on with me last week that I didn't even know it was BBAW. I've never felt depressed before but all this family business stuff hits me hard every now and then, and what I felt last week was utter despair! I am better this week but it's my sorry excuse for not participating.

I appreciate you too, Audra. I really do. I love your reviews. They are always to the point and make me think about the book in a different way than I would if I had not stopped by. I also enjoy your personality. It comes through with every post and it always brings a smile to my face.

  13. Thanks so much for including me--and in such great company too! BBAW falls at such a hectic time of year for me that I haven't gotten around to participating yet, but I am enjoying reading the posts of others. I do treasure our friendship and reading discussions throughout the year!

  14. Hi, Audra! You know I've been out of the loop for about a month, and I was just trying to catch up on your blog (since I count on you for about half my reading suggestions!) when I read this. I can't tell you how very touched I am to be on this list, since I read so many of these wonderful blogs myself. I am so thankful to have met you! Col
