Mailbox Monday, Jan 28
Ohemgee, what is up with this winter weather?! Despite my best efforts, I spent a good chunk of last night in the cold and it was miserable. Thankfully, I had books to make it better. Another wonderfully full Mailbox Monday this week. Hosted in January at Lori's Reading Corner, my arrivals look pretty amazing.

Most excitingly: I'm the host of Mailbox Monday in February!! I'm a great hostess, I promise! I hope to see you all next week!
So, what did you get this week?
For Review

Gifted

Sweetly gifted to my wife (!) by the author, after I commented that my wife is an enormous Katherine Parr fangirl. How sweet is that?! Thank you, Ms. Byrd!!

I have Strands of Bronze and Gold too. I love Gothic tales!
ReplyDeleteI was tempted by several of these but there are just too many good books on NetGalley and I don't want to end up with a massive backlog again. Planning on reading Raw Head and Bloody Bones next week though :)
ReplyDeleteHave I mentioned lately how much your Monday Mailbox posts wreak havoc on my WishList ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat mailbox (as usual), Audra. I have Strands of Bronze and Gold for review, too, and have requested The Fatal Crown. Can't wait for your reviews on each of books you received.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of the weekend. Hope it starts to warm up for you soon! We are finally getting some relief from the bitter cold.
Wow! to all your fabulous books! And the historical novels look great.
ReplyDeleteHoly books, Batman! What a mailbox this week! Glad to see old Victoria Holt books getting new releases....and the Zelda book! I want that one! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteHow cow, tons of arrivals! I think it would freak me out - what to read first? gaaaaaaaaah!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteOooh so much historical fiction. I will be looking back for reviews. That's quite the impressive haul!!
ReplyDeleteLots of awesome books!! The movement of stars has an awesome cover! Can't wait to hear what you think of the new Elizabeth Chadwick book!
ReplyDeleteJealous - I've asked for the Brill (used to be a major astronomy buff!) but haven't gotten anywhere so far... I'm going to try another avenue. I have a copy of Z, too. A very nice list -- India Black is always fun.
ReplyDeleteHope they fix the spelling of Aquitaine on the Jones covers! I read Beloved Enemy and Fatal Crown ages ago.
I'm super excited for the Brill -- I hope I can squeeze it in! I hadn't noticed the Aquitaine spelling -- just tweeted 'em to see what if it was intentional!
DeleteIt's a common error - and it's on their website and Amazon too, hmm. Fortunately with ebooks, it's not as difficult to fix as it could be.
DeleteIt wasn't intentional! They're correcting it now. Good eye and nice catch!
DeleteThanks for touching base with them - I'm pleased they're fixing it!
DeleteI want Z so bad! And wow, that was really nice of Sandra Byrd! :)
ReplyDeleteMonday morning here and I am so envious of your lists of books. They all look wonderful. Welcome to being next months' hostess.
ReplyDeleteSo many goodies in this mailbox....Z and Black Russian are among the one's I'll be looking out for in your reviews.
ReplyDeleteI'm envious of all that medieval fiction (even I've I've quite a bit myself). A really good lot of books there, and as someone who loved it I must be biased and say it's awesome you've got Shadows and Strongholds there.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great stash of books! I am curious about Byrd's books and how they blend faith into the Tudor stories.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Here is my memes post.
Oh and I LOVED Shadows and Strongholds, it was fantastic!
ReplyDeleteSo many books! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteA fan of Historical Fiction, hope you enjoy! them all.

You always get the best looking hist fic books. Looking forward to your reviews!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! How do you keep up with your book hauls?
ReplyDeleteThe Movement of Stars: Pretty! I'm not so sure about the description, so you be sure to read it and let me know if I should. ;)
Ooh, you got another book about your fictional girlfriend. Nice!
That Zelda Fitzgerald novel looks awesome. Want.
The Passions for Darcy: It looks so cheesy, yet...I want it. Dang you, Jane Austen, for making me so in love with your characters I cannot resist anything about them!
Awwww, I love that an author gifted a book to your wife. That is so sweet!
Your mailbox Mondays always send me running off to Goodreads. Then I make my gigantic to-be-read list even longer...
ReplyDeleteI hope you find some great new reads in this haul to curl up with until this gross weather passes!
Oh man, I finished Z this weekend and really loved it!
ReplyDeleteI'm so curious about the Zelda novel! Read a wonderful biography of her years ago - fascinating lady. Look forward to your thought on it.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, how do you do it? You have given me an atrocious case of book envy, but how would I ever find time to read all these titles? How do you??
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing selection! I want to read the Ella Fitzgerald book, too. Enjoy your new books!
ReplyDeleteI read Fatal Crown years ago and it has it's place on my keeper shelf. I just read Beloved Enemy by Ellen Jones. Loved it! Now to buy the print copy so it can sit on that shelf too. Gilded Cages is next. :)
ReplyDeleteWow...what a mailbox. I read The Secret Keeper - pretty good.
ReplyDeleteThe India Fan and The Paradise Guest House look good.
Enjoy all your books.

My Mailbox Monday
I think Mailbox Mondays are my favorite weekly event. I don't always get a new book every week, but yay when I do. That's a pretty big haul you have for this Monday!
