Weekend reads and not feeling well...

Ugh, I'm totally Eeyore this month!

Struggling with a migraine this morning and the lingering head cold from last week -- am snotty and achy and very, very cranky.  I can't even focus enough to read!

I'm slowly reading The Serpent and the Pearl by Kate Quinn and The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon.  (They're artfully propped up on flowers my wife bought me to cheer me up.  She's a good one!)

What are you reading this weekend?  For those who have Monday off, any exciting plans?

  1. Rats, Audra, I hope you're feeling better soon. The change in seasons is always tough! I am reading Neil Gaiman's Ocean at the End of the Lane this weekend. Tonight I have my first hike with our local Women's Adventure Club -- so I'm looking forward to a good Labor Day!

  2. Hang in there! I hope you're feeling better soon. Finishing up The Other Typist and starting a Jane Eyre re-read.

  3. I am sorry you aren't feeling well. Migraines suck because it hurts to do anything but lie in the dark. And somehow, even that hurts.

My birthday is coming up and my son will be on a school trip during it, so this weekend we are hitting the fair! I haven't been to the fair in at least four years. It's opening weekend though and the $1 admission means it will be packed and hot and I will probably not want to stand too close to the livestock but it's the only time we can go! Busy kids, and all.

  4. I hope you feel better soon and have a great weekend!

  5. I don't blame you for being Eeyore! I hope you're feeling better soon!

  6. I hope you feel better soon :) I'm reading the Count of Monte Cristo and feel like I could still be reading it by the end of the weekend, it's just so long!

  7. Hi again Audra, , just letting you know that you are in my Featured Book Blog sidebar for September on Carole's Chatter. Get well soon. Cheers

  8. Hope you feel better soon. Pretty flowers! Enjoy your books.

  9. I HATE migraines! The only good thing ever about being sick is that it's a good excuse to curl up and read but you can't even think about reading with a migraine. How you're feeling better!

  10. I hope you're feeling better by now! Also: KATE QUINN - JEALOUS. I have her women of Rome series waiting, but I've heard great things about her newest.

Also -- can't wait for your thoughts on The Bone Season. Reviews are all over the place and I am curious which side you'll land on!
