Weekend reads and more snow...

My weekend read is Under the Wide and Starry Sky by Nancy Horan.  Kind of perfect for Valentine's Day and another snowy weekend.  If I finish it before Monday (which I get off from work!), I plan to settle in with Napoleon in America by Shannon Selin.

I really ought to do a little blog work this weekend, too: I'm wildly behind on a bunch of reviews -- have not had the brainpower to write them clearly. The backlog is daunting!

What are you reading this weekend?

  1. I'm definitely behind on reviews, too; I just haven't felt focused or clear-headed enough to channel my thoughts into words, especially about the books I really liked (Inside These Walls by Rebecca Coleman, specifically). I'll be tucked in with What I Was by Meg Rosoff, which I'm really enjoying so far!

    1. Yes -- what is it about loving a book that makes it so hard to express in words?! Enjoy your reads -- will look for both of them!

  2. I just started The Bear by Claire Cameron. I sure am glad the snow is done with us. Stay warm!

    1. Yes, hope you're digging out okay! My mother, in NC, kept her power, but randomly lost her hot water -- but she's got a good book or two, so everything is fine, right? ;)

  3. I have a few reviews to write too but my brain has gone soft after our busy week in the theater. I want to sleep in tomorrow but I just remembered that we have a tax appt tomorrow. Man, my planning gene has deteriorated. I booked a doctor's appt for today, Valentine's Day and the one day I can sleep in, I book a tax appt. Bleh.

  4. I'm perpetually behind on reviews--I only review about one out of every ten books I read, and even that I'm behind on!

I loved being able to work from home yesterday in my jammies because of the snow. And our driveway still hasn't been plowed out yet today, so I'm happily stuck here with my various books.

  5. I'm reading an oldie but goodie: Good Morning, Miss Dove. The snow has just started falling here, but we're not supposed to get too much- not like the wallop the east coast has gotten. We're supposed to go to a Valentine's Day party tonight- I'm waiting to see if it's still going to happen. If not, I'll settle in to finish my read. I'm interested in what you think of Wide and Starry Sky. It's on my wish list.
