Weekend reads and dreading the next step...

My weekend read is Inamorata by Megan Chance, and I'm finishing up Kate Quinn's Mistress of Rome. (SO GOOD.)

I'm hoping I'll get some reading in this weekend but as we move in three weekends, I suspect I'll be doing more around the house. (Le sigh.)  We're planning to get rid of everything we don't want to move, which feels almost harder than packing what we do want to move!

I'm very ready to be moved, however, so we can get the nursery stuff set up.  We're moving into a one bedroom apartment, so we'll be sharing our space with Little Reader.  I'm hoping to make the bedroom feel cohesive and cute, so fingers crossed. (I'll share pics if we're successful!)

What are you reading this weekend?

  1. Moving is so much work but I like to get a fresh start every once in a while. Sometimes it's hard to figure out what you need and don't need until you move.

  2. Sending you lots of warm thoughts as you prep for your big move! We really should have been better about getting rid of what we didn't want/need before we started packing, but I must confess we got lazy/overwhelmed and wound up moving tons of stuff that should have just gone to charity. I'm actually creating bags of all that now for donation . . . a little after the fact, for sure!

  3. Good luck with your move. We wound up getting rid of so much when we just moved this May, donating a bunch of carloads to charity and tossing junky stuff at the dump. We did make some mistakes like getting rid of our older couch to save room in the moving truck and then not being able to replace it for 2 months due to unexpected things beyond our control. I am curious about Inamorata and hope you enjoyed it.

  4. good luck! This week-end, I'm finishing a nonfiction, France on the Brink, and going on with a histfic: The Wharf of Chartrons

  5. We just moved last weekend - doing pretty good with the unpacking - only about 5 half boxes left. We donated a bunch before moving, and have a few more boxes to donate after moving - basically stuff we no longer have room for. We have a 2 bedroom apartment for just the two of us (second bedroom is being used as an office/library) - I can't imagine a 1 bedroom with a baby! Good luck with the move!!!

  6. Moving is hell! Good luck, and don't forget to take breaks.

I'm reading The Count of Monte Cristo, the unabridged translation by Robin Buss. It's a doorstop!
